Weekly Update: May 3, 2019

Work Continues on US 395 from Mill Street to Parr Boulevard

Construction crews have approximately four weeks of bridge work and roadway striping remaining on US 395 from Mill Street to Parr Boulevard to complete project improvements from 2018. The US 395 southbound to I-80 east and west ramps will be closed on Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please use signed detour.

Drivers can expect lane closures on US 395 northbound and southbound from Mill Street to Parr Boulevard Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, May 12 for approximately three weeks. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Alternating Spaghetti Bowl ramps will have closures with advanced signage and posted detours.

I-80 Westbound Paving Begins

The project team is picking up where they left off last season with paving operations beginning on I-80 westbound at Mogul and heading west to Gold Ranch. Drivers can expect overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sundays through Fridays and short-term overnight interstate ramp closures throughout the corridor from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time. Once I-80 westbound paving is complete, crews will start on I-80 eastbound beginning at the California/Nevada state line and heading east.

Crews dislodging loose rocks from steep slopes near the state line to reduce the risk of future rock fall.

Crews install a layer of polyester polymer concrete on the Boomtown River Bridge to prevent moisture from entering the bridge deck surface.
