Weekly Update: May 3, 2019

Bump Ahead!

We’ve received some comments about the bumps on I-80 eastbound near north McCarran Blvd. and Keystone Ave. What causes the bumps? The bumps are the difference in height between the roadway and the bridges. They will be smooth once the final layer of asphalt (open grade) is placed. Construction crews need consistent warm and dry conditions to place the open grade; anticipated in July. Until then, temporary material is placed in the transitions. Please use caution and slow down.

I-80 Traffic Control

Construction will temporarily be suspended during the Memorial Day holiday from Friday, May 24 at 5 am resuming on Tuesday, May 28 at 7 pm. Crews will be working on drainage improvement in the median and shoulder on I-80 near Gold Ranch. Drivers can expect narrow lanes and lane and shoulder closures. Paving continues on I-80 eastbound near Mogul to Keystone Avenue Sunday evenings to Saturday mornings. Drivers can expect lane closures, increased Friday evening traffic with minor delays from 7 pm to 5 am and ramp closures from 9 pm to 5 am.
