I-80 West Of Reno: March 22, 2019 Update

March and April Paving Operations

During March and April, crews will be paving I-80 westbound ramps from Mogul to Gold Ranch and I-80 eastbound ramps from Gold Ranch to Keystone Avenue. Crews will work on the I-80 eastbound on and off ramps at Mogul continuing west, then move to I-80 eastbound from Gold Ranch to Keystone Avenue. Drivers will see short-term overnight ramp closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly, excluding Saturday nights. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time.

Crews will also pave truck parking/chain-up areas and the 4th Street frontage road. I-80 mainline paving is anticipated to begin in May, weather permitting.

Pedestrian Improvements

Crews continue to work on pedestrian improvements on west McCarran Boulevard at I-80 and Keystone Avenue at I-80. Please use pedestrian detours.

Crews remove concrete barrier rail near state line to install new drainage facilities in the median of I-80.

Crews are placing curb in front of the barrier rail on I-80 using the slip-form method of placing curb. The curb will channel storm runoff to water quality basins and reduce roadside erosion.
